Lawyer Nigel Russell has a confession to make. He and his wife Thuy have owned a Seaforth waterfront home for four years but never slept in it.
They’ve enjoyed wine and cheese from their private deepwater berth, renovated inside and even had plans approved for a lift to be installed inside their five-bedroom home at 15 Bligh Crescent.
But they haven’t got around to moving in and now they think they never will.
“We loved the idea of living on a waterfront, but we travel overseas a lot and we’ve decided to stay in the eastern suburbs,” he said.

The owners have spent some lovely afternoons beside the water, but never slept there.
The house had an oversized boatshed.
So having bought the light and airy home for $6.125m in 2021 they have now listed the cul-de-sac home by expressions of interest with a guide of $6.75m. In the meantime, they have rented out the home for $3600 a week.
“We’ve spent some lovely afternoons beside the water, it is so private with such a sense of air and space and the house has lots of glass towards the water bringing in the views,” he said.
Bligh Cres is a short no-through road that hugs the foreshore of Middle Harbour where most of the two dozen properties have boatsheds, jetties and deepwater for their boats.
