Decades of memorabilia dominated the Avoca Beach house contents of the late entertainment industry showman Brian Walsh that were offered at weekend auction on the NSW Central Coast.
The 213 offerings were collected first-hand by the well-connected Walsh, who was one of Australia’s most acclaimed screen creatives and publicists.
Walsh had worked across the media from Radio 2SM, the Ten Network where he helped revive the Neighbours soap show, Sky Broadcasting in the UK, and part of the founding team at Foxtel in 1995.
His weekender contents sale came ahead of the pending settlement of the 2023-built four-bedroom, four bathroom lakeside home.
The Elizabeth Bay-based Walsh bought the Avoca Beach property in 2012 for $1,295,000, but died in March 2023 aged 67, just before he had the chance to move into the new house.
The Ficus Ave home sold through McGrath agent Trevor Hamilton setting an undisclosed suburb record for the enclave, which has stood at $8.5m since 2022.

A Wayne Pearce jersey worn on the 1985 Australia vs New Zealand tour fetched $3,000.
A Donald Friend watercolour portrait of a boy in Bali failed to attract a bid.
A signed Tina Turner music poster fetched $240 while a Gloria Estefan autographed framed poster saw a $50 top bid.
An autographed Andrew Ettinghausen photo fetched $45.

The top bid was $6,500 for 10 pale cream linen upholstered dining chairs while $3,600 was paid for a blond oak dining table, which had been purchased from Hub Furniture for $15,995.
Last year the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards gave a $50,000 Brian Walsh Award for Emerging Talent, sponsored by Nicole Kidman.
