Four Winds Vineyard in the Yass Valley has come of age, and its owners believe it’s the perfect time to sell — despite the industry’s struggles.

Ms Collingwood and her husband, John, came to the farm in 2010 to give her parents Graeme and Suzanne Lunney a hand. She had limited knowledge of wine and John was a physiotherapist who’s since retrained in viticulture.

“Winemaking was never part of our plan, but we have loved it,” Ms Collingwood said.

“The last 15 years have been amazing. Running a business like this offers so much scope for creativity, and we have such a great team working for us.

“We’ve raised two kids at the farm and they’ve grown up alongside the business, which has been fun. But now we’re ready for the next adventure.”

Mr McGregor said the vineyard was likely to attract a broad market, from families and retirees seeking a lifestyle change, to institutional investors.

“I’d had some experience because mum and dad had been on the property, but John had no wine background and built it up over time.”
