The house at 11 Eggleston St, Ocean Grove, has multiple courtyards that would not look out of place in Bali.
A colourful house that’s a slice of tropical-style paradise is heating up the Ocean Grove market.
The three-bedroom brick Eggleston St home is for sale with an $850,000-$890,000 asking range.
Plant-patterned wallpaper, pink- and red-coloured walls and a leafy courtyard complete with a Bali-esque thatched roof hut, water feature, tiki torches and Buddhist statues adds to the resort-like feel.

The house has multiple courtyards, facing west, south, and north east, providing ample areas to relax and enjoy the sunshine.
Hayden Ocean Grove’s Lynley Bassett said the residence would be a great first-home, downsizer’s pad, investment, holiday house or short-term rental accommodation.
“I would describe it as a little tropical hideaway in old Ocean Grove with all the conveniences and amenities as your fingertips,” Ms Bassett said.
“They’re a cruisy bike ride or a short walk away, or you could go for a walk onto the beach or into the town centre.”
Black cane lighting fixtures, colourful furniture and a red feature wall make a stylish statement.
The thatched-roof hut is a great chill-out spot.
Tropical fun is on show throughout the house.
The garage has been converted into a multipurpose room that could serve as the third bedroom, a studio or office.
With separate access to the main home, it could also be a work-from-home space for a beautician or masseuse.
Ms Bassett said the kitchen and bathrooms had recently been renovated, with the black- and white-toned kitchen featuring timber accents and detailed tiles.
“I think the drama of the kitchen is beautiful,” she said.
The bathroom contains a stand-alone bathtub and a timber-lined ceiling.
The kitchen has timber accents, feature tiles and a black and white colour scheme.
A water feature, greenery and tiki torches made this courtyard into a relaxing retreat-style space.
Perfect pink in one of the bedrooms.
One living area has plantation shutters and a gas log fire, while the main bedroom also includes plantation shutters, built-in wardrobes and a reverse-cycle heater and cooler.
The dining and lounge area lead to a sunroom and the north east-facing courtyard.
There’s ducted heating and cooling throughout, and a split system in the back living area.
Ms Bassett said some buyers had enjoyed the home’s creative colour scheme but others were keen to put their own stamp on it.
“The owner’s style is bold but if it was pared back, I think the house would suit whatever the new owner’s style is,” she said.
“A coast of paint would make it much more neutral.”
