A family slept in a caravan and cooked in their shed while building an epic entertainer’s house in Indented Head.
Couple Simone Eisenberg and James Becker and their two children lived on their block at
71 Ibbotson St while the four-bedroom home took shape across 12 months.
They parked a caravan on-site and made the most of their large shed’s kitchen and bathroom during the time frame, as the abode was constructed upon a 5312sq m site that was formerly a pine tree plantation.

Eisenberg says their children loved the experienced of living in a caravan – but not as much as they loved their new home, that was completed in 2023.
With an outdoor undercover entertaining area, concrete basketball court, which also has soccer goals at one end, an in-ground pool, cubby house, sandpit and landscaped gardens, the property became a popular gathering place for the youngsters and their friends.
“We had everything there, we didn’t need to leave,” Eisenberg says.
“It’s an incredible entertainer’s home.”
As an added bonus, the beach is about 700m away, and the Indented Head boat ramp, Half Moon Bay, shops and walking trails are close by.

Becker and Eisenberg, who own a construction company, wanted to include natural elements in the home.
“I love the design, being able to choose everything yourself and source everything yourself,” Eisenberg says.
Recycled red bricks feature throughout the residence, including in the open-plan living and dining space’s fireplace.
Other materials used were repurposed timber, rattan and microcement, which consists of a cement and polymer-based coating.
The kitchen is fitted with concrete benchtops, polished concrete floors, an island bench with a breakfast bar, a 900mm electric cooktop, dual ovens, pendant lighting and cathedral-style ceilings.

A butler’s pantry, with a sink, dishwasher and refrigerator, serves as a smaller second kitchen.
The open-plan living and dining space provides access to the alfresco dining area, while a second living room has polished concrete floors.
In the main bedroom suite there’s a feature brick wall and walk-in wardrobe, and an ensuite with crazy paved floors, a freestanding bath tub and shower.
Polished concrete floors continue through all of the bedrooms, two of which have built-in desks.
The house is also a popular short-term rental accommodation home.

Other highlights include ducted heating and cooling, a study and the main bathroom with crazy paved floors and a floating vanity.
The three-car garage and workshop space has a solar system on the roof.
McGrath’s Ashlyn Schweiger said that since the owners moved out, the house now serves as a popular short-term rental accommodation home.
The property was booked out for the entire month of January.
“I would say it’s very grand and spacious, everything is very well thought out,” Schweiger says.
The home is for sale with a $2.2m-$2.4m asking range.
