A Hamptons-esque manor offers a magical lifestyle, plenty of room to move and enviable views over St Vincent Gulf.
Builder Danny Black is selling his late parents Tina and Darryl Black’s Gulfview Heights property Arindartly (an anagram of both of their names), with Mr Black saying the property’s creation was a real labour of love.
“Mum and Dad bought the block in 1994 and we built this one in 2002,” he says.
“We did everything in the house ourselves – I gyprocked it, all the wainscoting and architraves were all made here onsite because there’s a big workshop here.

“We made all the windows and doors, so it was very much a family-built home.
“Dad was a carpenter-turned-builder, I was a carpenter who became a builder and my brother is a carpenter, so we all played our part.
“My daughter’s done all the grouting and helped with the tiling, so it has been a massive family effort to finish it off.
“We’ve paid meticulous attention to detail to every single aspect of this home and we definitely didn’t cut any corners here.

“It was my Mum’s dream to have a big block and a big house with lots of room for kids and grandchildren and they would host a lot of charity events here.
“Plus I got married here, my brother got married here, and the daughter next door and the girl up the road got married here too – so it’s a very magical place.”
The home has seven bedrooms over its two levels – one on the lower level that could also be a media room, and the other six upstairs, with one of these able to be used as a guest sweet due to its kitchenette and ensuite.
There is also lower level garaging for seven cars, with two of these in a workshop and another one in a space that could also be used as a games room.

The front door opens into a grand hall and nearby are both separate formal lounge and dining rooms, and a casual open-plan family, meals and dining area. Outside you’ll find a gazebo, a deck, landscaped grounds and a swimming pool.
With the property looking the best it ever has, the time has come for another family to make their own special memories here, Mr Black says.

“It’s a very emotional thing to be selling it, as it has been the most important house in the world to me and we’re all so proud of it.
“It will be very hard to say goodbye but it’s time for someone else to love it.”
