Summer holiday nostalgia is in overdrive at a classic 1930s Lorne beach house that’s hit the market for the first time in almost a century.
Descedants of the original owners are finally parting ways with their beloved holiday home, just one block back from the beach.
Generations of memories are on display in the Tudor-style lounge, where a photo of the vendor being bathed in a bucket as a baby is among several black and white images that chronical happy times spent at 88 Smith St, Lorne.

Great Ocean Road Real Estate, Lorne agent Tyrone Provan said most of the value of the $2.25m listing lay in the north-facing, 770sq m corner site.
It’s just a short stroll from Mountjoy Pde and Lorne’s foreshore.
“It’s just a magnificent site and opportunity for someone in the not too distant future,” Mr Provan said.
“You can obviously utilise the rustic home in its current form … it’s a generational family beach house and it’s good order and original condition.”
Wood panelling, timber accents and an open fireplace wind back the clock to the 1930s in the living and dining room and several of the four bedrooms.

“In a meeting with my vendors they said ‘do we take the photos off the walls?’ and I said ‘do not take the photos off the walls, they tell a beautiful story.
“One of the vendors is 77 years of age and there’s a photo of him as a baby being bathed in a bucket at the property so it really does tell a wonderful history.”
