A Netherby home offers a luxe lifestyle close to a range of quality schools and shops, making it an ideal choice for families or those with an active social life.
Kym and Jane White have recently completed this stunning Netherby property, with Kym, who has built more than 50 homes across South Australia in his almost 40-year building career, saying it is one of the finest he has ever created.

“There were two horrible old flats on this block, and we walked out the back and found there are these two magnificent gumtrees on a neighbouring property and you get black cockatoos and kookaburras in there – it almost offers that semirural lifestyle,” Kym says. “It’s not, but it’s definitely not city.”
“The home is beautiful. You walk in and immediately feel at home – it has everything you could ever want in a luxurious and comfortable package. It’s seven-star energy rated and got that much insulation in it so it’s incredibly efficient.
“I want to start retiring so we built this one as an investment – I’ve been building since I was 16 and I’m now 68, and we’ve won a few HIA awards along the way, so it will be nice to step away from that a bit. This is one of the nicest houses I’ve built and I could live in it tomorrow.”
Mr White says the home’s location was indeed second-to-none.
“Netherby is close to schools, there are shops nearby, there’s a bus stop around the corner so you can easily go to the city or the footy, and there’s the cinema and some fantastic pubs nearby too, so it really does offer a great lifestyle outside what the home offers,” he says.
The home has four bedrooms – one on the ground floor with a walk-in robe and an ensuite, and the other three upstairs.
On the lower level you’ll also find a sitting room that could be used as a home theatre; a laundry, a garage and a spacious open-plan kitchen, living and dining area opening out to an alfresco area and a deck overlooking a low-maintenance rear yard with a sparkling inground pool.
Upstairs, the master suite has a walk-through robe to an ensuite and opens out to a private balcony. The other two bedrooms are serviced by a family bathroom, and the nearby living area can also be used as a home theatre, if desired.
“We’re incredibly proud of this one and designed it to be timeless, so it really won’t date,” Mr White says. “It’s the perfect family home, but two people could live here very comfortably and have plenty of room for when family or friends come to stay.”
