“I would actually say it (the backyard) is more perfect in winter, in a way,’’ he said.
“We have that very large wood fire and we would light that every second night.
“If you pull down all the shades (café blinds) it becomes a semi-enclosed area and it’s such a great spot.’’

Mr Cole said a private veranda with a bathtub and tropical plantings, which could be accessed from the main bedroom and was near to an outdoor sauna, could also be enjoyed year-round.
“That (taking a bath in that area) is even better when it rains because we’ve put the iron roof on it so it really sounds like you are in the tropics,’’ he said.
The couple said the home, which has a self-contained granny flat, was well-suited to multigenerational living, with their three now-adult children and their partners, as well as Mrs Cole’s parents, all comfortably residing on the property for a year during the pandemic.

“It’s such a quiet pocket. There’s no (major) streets so you don’t drive through it unless you are specifically going to Novar Gardens and that’s what makes it so safe.
“The location really is quite special.’’
