A Surfers Paradise palace-style home modelled on the former Versace Gold Coast foyer has sold in an off-market deal for $6.6m, following a lengthy marketing campaign.

Surfers Paradise First National Real Estate’s Russell Rollington and Bob Rollington handled the sale of 77 Commodore Drive, Paradise Waters, which sold to a local buyer.

The property had previously been on the market with another agency in 2024.

“We received strong interest with a mix of local and interstate buyers inspecting in the pre-market offering,” Russel Rollington said.

“The buyer plans on doing a renovation to the property.”

The five-bedroom, five-bathroom home features a magnificent glass atrium modelled on the Versace foyer (now known as the Imperial Hotel) – offering sweeping vistas of the Gold Coast skyline and the expansive open Broadwater.

“I believe the home was originally built by Sunland,” Mr Rollington said.

“The property was built ahead of its time and has a lot of commercial style building elements to it such as the vast entry hotel like lobby with high ceilings, glass roofed ceiling and walls, double height voids in the living spaces and the infinity edge waterside pool.”

Each bedroom is super-sized with its own ensuite, with separate living and dining spaces to cater to a large family and regular entertaining of epic proportions.

There is a sprawling alfresco area overlooking the Broadwater, an elevated pool and a kitchen with breakfast bar that seamlessly connects to the dining area for effortless hosting.

Situated just minutes away from the world-famous Surfers Paradise beach, elite schools and within 30 minutes of the Coolangatta airport, the home is nestled on a quiet and protected mooring in the prestigious Paradise Waters enclave.

PropTrack data reveals the median house price in Surfers Paradise is $3.85m, up 33.2 per cent over 12 months.
