A family home in Fannie Bay is going to auction after undergoing a stunning renovation.
Owner Jason Haack said he and his wife bought the elevated property at 4 Crush St, Fannie Bay, in 2016 with the intent to transform it into their perfect family home.
“What we wanted to create was a house that had beautiful spaces indoors and out,” Mr Haack said.
“We wanted that secluded Balinese style pool environment and to make it feel like we were a thousand miles away when we walked out into our backyard.”
A carpenter and bricklayer by trade, Mr Haack said he was very fussy and ensured every step of the process met his high expectations.
“Everything in the house is of the highest standard,” he said.

Mr Haack said the project was a total renovation from the ground up.
“We stripped the cladding off, ripped up concrete under the house, pulled out the pool and demolished inside and out,” he said.
“The house now has a new roof, new windows, new floors and new walls.
“We enclosed a veranda to the rear to give us more internal space and we added a staircase to the back of the house.
“We renovated underneath the house to make it more functional – we turned a storeroom into the laundry and we renovated the downstairs bathroom and bedroom.”
The couple also completely overhauled the grounds.
“We did a lot of work with the gardens,” Mr Haack said.
“When we bought the place it had a lot of weeds and Carpentaria palms.
“We gutted everything and started from scratch, adding retaining walls and irrigation.
“Now it offers a lovely outlook from any room in the house and provides a lovely ambience around the pool.”

Set on a 1000 sqm block with tropical gardens, a pond and a pool, the home is spread across two levels.
Downstairs, there is a bedroom with ensuite, an airconditioned laundry, a storeroom and parking for three vehicles with enough clearance for a boat or caravan.
Upstairs, there is an open plan living, dining and kitchen area opening to front and rear balconies.
There are timber floors, louvre windows and garden views throughout this level.
The kitchen has quality appliances, breakfast bar and pullout corner shelving, while the lounge area has a skylight and bi-fold doors opening to the entertainer’s balcony.
Two of the three bedrooms have built-in wardrobes, the third bedroom has a built-in desk and there is a family bathroom with floor to ceiling tiles.

Outside, there is an in-ground pool with waterfall, a tranquil pond and a poolside gazebo.
“We spend a lot of time in the pool and the gazebo is such a nice, functional outdoor space,” Mr Haack said.
“You can entertain quite easily and there’s a barbecue area and a fan in gazebo.”
The property is walking distance to schools, markets, shops and the Fannie Bay Race Course.
“The neighbourhood is great,” Mr Haack said.
“Everyone on the street is fantastic and everyone knows everyone.
“You have easy access to Parap School and the new kindergarten that’s under construction.
“It’s a short walk to the shops and the Saturday markets, and close to the Ski Club, Trailer Boat Club and the Yacht Club.”
