Constructed from some 10,000 mud bricks, this striking Blue Mountains home is being sold by renowned Australian sculptor Terrance Plowright OAM.

Many of Plowright’s works are displayed throughout the 2196sqm property, which sales agent Matt Grima from Belle Property Blue Mountains said could also be purchased.

Six of the mud bricks used in the build were tested by the CSIRO and were commended for their quality, and Mr Grima said Mr Plowright had them examined to ensure they had integrity and good thermal qualities.

The five bedroom, two bathroom home was not for the “traditional homebuyer” but someone who appreciated architecture and the complexity of the home’s build, Mr Grima said.


“It’s very Blue Mountains – its surroundings, the views. They’ve worked within the natural landscape, with the trees, the shrubs,” he said.

“It’s extremely quiet and tucked away.”

Highlights of the home include an 80,000 litre concrete water tank, 60 solar power panels, a 14 kW Tesla battery, two gas fireplaces, hydronic and underfloor heating


The home is surrounded by an array of local wildlife including kookaburras, tawny frogmouths, owls and wallabies.
