A grand Tudor-style home in the Adelaide Hills is looking for a new lord or lady of the manor, who could even take possession of a medieval knight that guards the front door.
Vendors Derek and Ngari said the antique furnishings at 7 Riggs Court, One Tree Hill, including the knight’s armour, shield and sword that was acquired specifically to adorn the home’s main entry, could be negotiated for separate sale by whoever buys their sprawling character estate.
“I always wanted a knight’s suit of armour, it’s the perfect thing for the space and I would like to leave it with the house,’’ Derek said.
“So that (purchase of the knight) could be discussed outside of the (house) sale.
“And if the (new owner) needs extra furniture then … it’s all negotiable.’’
The ex-military couple bought the five-bedroom home, set on a generous 3035sqm block, almost three years ago, drawn to its “grand stature’’.

This Tudor home at 7 Riggs Court, One Tree Hill has been listed for sale with price hopes of $1.6m to $1.76m.
A shiny knight’s armour with a sword and shield can be included in the sale.
The home’s spacious dining and kitchen space connects to a rumpus with a bar.
Derek said he loved the property’s timeless charm, which never failed to spark comments from family and friends.
“People just assume (that we’ve got a lot of) money when they come to the house,’’ he said.
“My friends call (the home) imposing when they come over – it is a little bit but I think it’s just beautiful.
“It never goes out of fashion. You buy a red brick home and it goes out of style but a Tudor doesn’t.’’
The dual-level home comes with a self-contained guesthouse with its own separate entrance and a fully-functional kitchen.
There is also a stylish main kitchen, a home theatre with a matte black ceiling and star lighting and a rumpus room with a built-in bar, which Derek currently uses to display his cherished motorbikes.

The rumpus area currently doubles as a display room for the owner’s motorbikes.
One of the rooms has been set up as a home gym and theatre.
The property also includes a pool.
The meticulously maintained outdoor area has a luxurious saltwater swimming pool and a large undercover entertainment space.
A double garage and massive shed with 3.2m-high clearance provides ample room for vehicles and there’s also a nearby workshop.
Derek said he would particularly miss the property’s outdoor space, including the expansive front lawns where he often plays soccer with his young son.
“I enjoy the outdoors. I enjoy motorbikes,’’ Derek said.
“There’s normally more motorbikes in (the rumpus room) and the plan was to have dirt bikes but you can’t ride dirt bikes (on the property due to a lack of suitable riding areas).
“So the plan is to buy another property with more land for dirt bikes.
“We want a small house on (a large allotment of) land and this is a big house on little land.’’
The home, on the market with Harris Real Estate, has a price guide of $1.6m to $1.76m.
