Bidding got as high as $14.1m for a Brisbane richlister family’s riverfront land parcel as 20 of the city’s finest properties went under the hammer today.
The 1210sq m block owned by Seymour Group founder Kevin Seymour at 25 Maxwell St in New Farm is in negotations to be sold post auction, with Ray White New Farm marketing agent Matt Lancashire.
Mr Seymour’s grandson Ben Seymour paid $9.9m for the prime property in December 2020, but it has become ‘surplus’ to the family’s requirements.

The property consists of two dwellings and 16.9m of river frontage, with an existing development approval to demolish both.
Bidding started at $10m before quickly rising to $14m under the helm of Ray White Collective principal and auctioneer Haesley Cush in front of a packed room.
A final bid of $14.1m wasn’t enough to put it on the market, but Mr Lancashire said negotiations were underway post auction with buyers offering more than that.
The property was one of about 20 in the order of sale at Ray White’s Prestige Auction Event at the Calile Hotel.
The day kicked off strongly with the sale under the hammer of 933 Brunswick St, New Farm, for $4.707m after bidding from several parties.
A property with development potential at 30 Pine St, Bulimba, also sold on the day for $2.87m.
A six-bedroom house at 15 London Rd, Clayfield sold for $4.3m prior to the event through Mr Lancashire.
A six-bedroom home with a self-contained granny flat at 20 Wright St, Balmoral, also sold before its auction for $2.76m through Ray White agents Scott Darwon and Harry Bennett.
