The battle between viral YouTuber turned world fighter Jake Paul and ex world boxing champ Mike Tyson has a surprise real world winner.

Both men are reportedly set to pocket $61m ($40m USD) each for the widely anticipated Netflix special, billed “Jake “El Gallo de Dorado” Paul and The Baddest Man on the Planet, Mike Tyson”, but the numbers are firmly pointed towards one camp when it comes to the winner on the home front.

Both men live extraordinary lives in the lap of luxury, but despite Iron Mike earning a career fortune Forbes estimates could be as high as a billion dollars ($685m USD), it’s bad boy YouTuber Jake Paul who wins hands down at home.

He bought a two-year-old eight bedroom mansion in Dorado, Puerto Rico for $24.5m ($US15.8m) in May last year, then put it through a massive $3.1m ($2m) renovation to turn into his dream home.

Mike Tyson bought this home in Nevada a decade after bankruptcy for about 15 per cent of what Jake Paul’s home cost.

After years of living large, Tyson’s home is now much more modest, costing 80 per cent less than his opponent, having been bought in 2015 for $3.88m ($US2.5m) – which is not far off what Mr Paul spent on his renovation program.

The YouTuber had bought an eight bedroom, 8.5 bath, six car garage home on an 1.18 acre lot, according to its listing on Realtor.com, busting down walls and opening the home up to boost its ‘feng shui”.

He took his 20.8m channel followers on a tour after the renovation work was complete on what he now calls the Taj MaPaul.

“We put $2m ($3.1mAUD) into this f***en house,” he said, “and now we’ll reveal it to you. Surprise!”

He kicks off with his upgraded garage loaded with expensive cars and trucks including two Ferraris in the same colour. “We redid this whole garage floor and also we are the first ones to do garden walls covering the whole entire garage”.

He has a koi pond at the entrance, with fish imported directly from Japan, and demands visitors take their shoes off before going into the home.

Plus he has a team of content producers working from his home in a special office.

“The main thing we changed was the entrance. Before there was glass and it kind of blocked this whole area in and the feng shui – the flow of energy – when you walked into the house felt blocked. But now it’s opened up and it’s really changed … it just feels very luxurious.”

He said it’s now one of his favourite parts of the home, packed with all sorts of collectors’ items and antiques including a gigantic amethyst crystal. “These things are expensive,” he said.

The home has loads to occupy the time including an automatic baseball batting practice set up and a hot tub that they’ve had 40 people in. His staff work from his home in a large office where they can produce as much as 12 hours of content in a day. “We have a team of about six or seven on the content side of things,” he said. ‘Everyone’s always hustling and grinding in here.”

The 27-year-old’s spending pattern – indulging himself for his grind – may be in tune with most celebrities, but it is nowhere near the level of extravagance that saw his 58-year-old opponent lose hundreds of millions in homes, cars, jewellery and cash.

Mr Tyson declared bankruptcy at 37 after an almost two-decade spending spree but today still lives in a luxurious six-bedroom, seven-bathroom home in Henderson, Nevada, which is a 19-minute drive from Las Vegas.

Mike Tyson’s taste is very different.

Today he lives in luxury after fighting his way back from bankruptcy and criminal conviction.

At 10,400 square feet, his home is beaten in size by Jake Paul’s by around 1,600 sq ft, but Tyson has fought his way back after crashing spectacularly off his meteoric rise to heavyweight stardom.

He has had some of the highest highs and lowest lows including world titles, jail, bankruptcy and rebirth as a marijuana connoisseur which his estate now makes around $US6m a year off, the New York Post reported.

Mr Tyson’s home has two “casitas” or separate houses, one of which is an apartment on close to an acre of land in the Seven Hills neighbourhood.

Some of the standout features include a stunning horizon pool, spa and entertainment zone with outdoor kitchen, a wine cellar, two enormous master suites and a marble staircase.

Iron railings, arched doorways, enormous floor to ceiling windows and stone fireplaces are the mood, according to The Post, with Mr Tyson saying he was “blessed” to be able to have such a home now.

There is one area though where Tyson does win hands down – one of his pets was a large white tiger, which dwarfs Jake Paul’s version of catdom – a significantly tinier guard cat who ‘owns” his backyard.

“Peter is our outdoor house cat that we rescued. He’s the best little buddy in the world. He’s basically a dog. He runs the backyard,” said the man who’s strapping on heavier than standard 14-ounce gloves to face the former heavyweight champion of the world.
